ABOUT US

The Trust has a small but dedicated team of people who are its backbone. All of the team numbers work for the Sake of Allah (SWT).

Director:
The Trust's executive head is Professor Ghulam Sarwar who has graduated with honours in Commerce from the Govt College of Commerce, Chittagong and did his Masters in Business Management from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a fellow of Royal Society of Arts.
He taught Business Management to undergraduates in the City College, Chittagong for approximately three years. He has been actively involved in the Islamic Da'wah since 1962. He has come to the UK in 1973 and joined the Muslim Educational Trust as its first ever director in January 1973. He has devoted his life to the cause of Islam and Islamic education and has been carrying on as its director ever since.

Assistant Director :
Ibrahim Brian Hewitt, now headmaster of Al- Aqsa Primary School, Leicester worked as the trust's Assistant director from 1989 to 1993. Usamah K Ward, B.Sc PGCE worked as our Education officer since 1993 to July 2003. He has substantially contributed to the work of the MET. This post remained vacant until recently. We now have Dr Muhammad Kamarul Hasan, M.Sc, Ph.d as our Asisstant director.
Dr Hasan is a hydro- geologist by profession and has worked as a hydrogeologist with the British Environment Agency before joining the Trust. He is a widely travelled person with a rich experience of working with Muslim organisations in the UK and elsewhere.

Research and Youth Officer:
Sultana Nasreen Sarwar, a graduate in History with Honours from the University College London (UCL) and a Postgraduate in History in Area Studies from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), London is the Trust's Research and Youth Officer. She is the head of the editorial team of our termly magazine, Reflect, and runs our Muslim Women and Girls project (MWGP).

Sales Manager:
Ahmad Khalif Mohamud, is the Sales Manager of the Muslim Educational Trust. He is responsible for the Sale of all of our publications and also shares many other related jobs at the Trust.

Design & Web:
The Design and Administration of this website is run by A3 Media Ltd.

General Educational Assistant:
A retired Physics Professor, Mr Ghulam Farid helps us in many of our activities as our General Educational Assistant.
